Purpose
The whole school staff saw the advantages a website could give to parents/carers, prospective parents, pupils, staff and authority as well as a worldwide audience. It would help increase the already strong home/school links.

Planning
WHO - The initial construction has been done by Mrs Glendinning and Mrs Leslie with Mrs Simpson (Head Teacher) being Chief Editor. We will eventually be getting the whole school involved by using childrens pictures and stories.
WHAT - We spent quite a while looking at other school websites to get the basic idea of what our school wanted. Much of the information we have used has been taken from the school handbooks.
WHEN - Mrs Leslie and I try to get together on a Friday afternoon while service is on for roughly half an hour. (Which is not always possible for Mrs Leslie.)

Producing
Leaving Stirling I thought That I would never get to grips with it. After familiarising myself and being able to focus on it properly without interruption it became a lot more clear. We have done quite a lot of the work at home in our own time. It is a bit addictive once you get started although there is a lot of to and fro-ing with save/view. Using the school handbooks this has meant a lot of the content has been cut/paste. It also was great to know that there was always help at the end of a phone or by e-mail thanks Kate and Margret.

Publishing
We are hoping to go "live" this session. Mrs Simpson is going to check through everything first.
Promoting
Parents/Carers will receive a form to tick what content they would like to see on their website. This will be going out to them soon. When we receive the forms back parents/carers will be informed of the website going "live" through the school newsletter. Prospective parents and other interested parties will hopefully be able to access the site through the local authority as well as Lochmaben Community Website.

Future
To get pupils more involved, taking pictures with the digital camera, writing stories and painting pictures.
To get the pupils (once I know better) to use the Ipod to put sound in by taping music singing etc
To get feedback from parents/carers and pupils about the content and layout.
